I am so excited about the year we are going to have together and I look forward to getting to know you and your child. This is my second year here at Bay Crest Elementary teaching fifth grade. PARKER'S 6TH GRADE L.A. The daily workshop is set up so that students will be presented with a mini- lesson and then be sent off to write until it is time. 6th Grade Math email. All assignments can be found on the 6th grade. Corrections will improve your child's grade in the class as well as help.

Middle School Block: 5A final tests Monday and Tuesday, 5B will be working on root words on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Language/Word Study: The students will be reading chapters 6-13 in Maniac Magee
6th grade activitiesMath: The students will be working on lessons 1.6 - 1.9. They are reviewing using and applying data to graphs.6th
Reading Workshop: The 6th grade class is discussing how to BUZZ effectively. They are also discussing characteristics of fiction and nonfiction books. In addition individuals are being assessed with Guided Reading materials.
Writing Workshop: Developing (Ideas and Content) will be the focus for this class till MEA break. Students will begin writing six different stories and then develop one of them into a published product.
Band is on Cycle day 2.
Agendas will be completed at the end of each day. Mr. Wagner will sign the Agenda. It is encouraged that parents initial the agenda to confirm the data.

Congratulations to the Cast and Crew of the Fall Play and One Act. You did an amazing job with the difficult task of recording both productions. I know it was stressful and tiring, but your extra effort resulted in two great recordings. Huzzah from Mrs. Lee. The Cast would like to send a huge thank you to Anya Wagner, Chase Thieschafer, Laura Hagel, and Jayme O'Brien for your help with the Fall Play and One Act. We really appreciate it! An even bigger Thank You to Jon Jensen for all of his work with filming and editing. To David 'LIght Man' O'Brien: Thank You for stepping in at the last minute and ensuring the show could go on.

National Geographic cancelled its annual Geography Bee this year, but that did not stop students in grades 6-8 from competing. The questions were created by Mr. Duberwoski, Mr. Owings, Mr. O'Brien, and Fred Liljegren. All students in grades 6-8 competed in the preliminary round of forty questions. Ten students advanced to the finals, with Sarah Toyli coming out as the winner. 1st place: Sarah Toyli 2nd place: Nolan Steidl 3rd place: Anya Wagner

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team on their 49-40 win over Underwood last night. The B-Squad lost. 7th and 8th grade girls basketball both won last night. 7th grade score was 20-14. 8th grade score was 25-7.

Junior high basketball practice will be over at 5:00 today.
